Mosque-based interventions to reduce HIV/AIDS related stigma and improve access to care

Implementing agency - Tianshan District CDC;
Approved budget - 189,600 RMB/$31,600 AUD.

The objectives are to:

Raise the awareness of HIV/AIDS among Imams and followers;
Reduce stigma and discrimination towards PLWHA in the community; and,
Create a better living environment for PLWHA in the community.

This project is nearing completion. Many valuable lessons have been learned and these are being incorporated into projects run and managed by the Religious Affairs Bureau in Yining and Kashgar.
