2003 World Aids Day

2003 World AIDS Day - The Xinjiang HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care Project participated in World AIDS Day (1 December) activities led by the Regional Bureau of Health.

An opening speech was given by Dr Maimaitiming Yasheng, Director-General of Bureau of Health. The event introduced song and dance acts drawing on the theme of HIV/AIDS and a video was simultaneously shown on a large screen emphasising the impact of stigma and discrimination on people living with HIV/AIDS.

Throughout the performance, the HIV/AIDS materials were distributed to an enthusiastic audience. The audience read the cards and pamphlets, on the spot, with much interest and were an interesting mix of ages and ethnicities
